From 9 August to 8 September 2011, all Jacaranda 94.2 listeners’ favourite artists will be going head to head in – a challenge that could see them winning their share of R100 000 in cash! Jacaranda 94.2 has selected 32 of the biggest music stars, solo artists and bands that boom across the Jacaranda 94.2 airwaves and arranged them in 16 sets of duelling duos. These will be announcing these on air every day – keeping listeners glued to their radios!

To stand the chance of winning R1000 per day, and to keep in the running for the grand cash prize, listeners will vote for their favourite via SMS – narrowing down the field in knockout-style till the station is left with the top two artists on the 8th of September. This will be an epic clash where one voter will win a guaranteed R40 000 in cash!

The World Cup of Music champion and the winner of the R40 000 will be announced on Just Plain Breakfast on Friday 9 September – the day of the kick-off of “that other World Cup” with the oddly shaped ball…

Jenny Griesel, Marketing Manager at Jacaranda 94.2 says “The 180 000 SMS responses we saw in 2010, when Steve Hofmeyr was crowned the World Cup of Music Champion, affirms that this promotion takes more than just the cup with our audience, and offers more than just top of mind to advertisers. It’s entertaining, simple, fun, interactive and boasts great rewards – keeping people tuned for longer and giving advertisers dedicated access to a prime audience of 25-49 year olds in LSM 7-10. It’s the ideal canvas for bottom line results and solid return on investment.”
