Missing chilli bush – is Nando’s responsible?

Please can someone tell us where the chilli bush delivered to AdVantage Magazine disappeared to? One second it was the production editors desk and the next it was it was gone. All that was left behind was an olive green birdcage… which housed the missing chilli bush. On the floor of the cage was a note… ‘I’ve got your African Birds’ Eye chilli bush’… and a number to call.

May 19th 2011 saw the debut of Nando’s most audacious television advertising campaign to date.  This TV campaign was a mammoth undertaking. If that seems like taking hype a little too far then consider this: a total of six separate commercials or ‘episodes’ were shot over five days, under the direction of Egg Film’s Slim. What’s more, this scorching hot Peri-Peri epic starts with one commercial that launches a story, it develops over six ‘episodes’ that flight across all channels including SABC 1, 2 and 3, e.tv and M-Net.  Collectively they culminate in one dramatic finale mini saga that will play on DSTV and selected cinemas from June 20th.

 

Conceived by Black River F.C. in Johannesburg with the creative team of Avish Gordhan and Mandie van der Merwe, under the creative direction of Ahmed Tilly and with the assistance of producer Iolanthe Grobler, to say Nando’s is buzzed about its biggest TVC so far would be a massively big understatement.

“This is about nothing less than Nando’s origins.  Our very beginning. About the thing that started it all,” reveals Sepanta Bagherpour, Nando’s Marketing Manager.
