Carat SA, has won the coveted African Access Business Award for fast growing SMMEs.

The award, considered the Oscars of South African business, is awarded to the company which has displayed the most significant growth in their market sector through best business practices and innovation, underpinned by strong financial performance.

The 10th African Access National Business Awards were held at the Sandton Convention Centre . Over the past decade, the Awards have grown from strength to strength, both in attendance and participation, with carefully selected individuals and organisations being honoured annually for their contribution to the South African economy.

Carat MD Quinton Jones says it was remarkable that the Carat team was not only being honoured by the industry, but that it was also achieving recognition from the wider business community.

“I am overjoyed that the contribution of the Carat team, which has accomplished the unimaginable through sheer hard work and tenacity, has been honoured in this way.”

Carat has taken the media industry in Africa by storm in the last 4 years, becoming a media powerhouse on the continent in an unprecedentedly short period of time.

Over the past few years, the agency has amassed a string of prominent local and international media awards, including the Internationalist Innovation Award in New York.

Jones says that, as Carat expands its presence in Africa, the company hopes to set the trend for the industry on the continent.

“We have made significant investments into training and development of staff in South Africa and across Africa. As Carat comes of age, we believe we are now strongly positioned as the agency of the future.”
