GREATER THAN SCOOPS THREE GOLDS AT PRISMS

Greater Than, a national full service Public Relations agency, scooped 3 gold and 1 bronze award at the 2011 PRISM Awards held on 24 March in Cape Town.

Greater Than owner and Managing Director, Galia Kerbel, attended the event along with her team to receive these esteemed accolades on behalf of the agency. “I am so proud of the hard work that they put into each campaign,” said Kerbel. “Winning these awards goes to show that Greater Than has been recognised as contributing to the growth and prestige of the South African PR industry.

 

Greater Than received a gold award for the PR on a Shoestring category to add to its accolades. This award recognised a powerful public relations campaign, publicising Pedigree’s sponsorship of the ‘Pedigree® Ahound South Africa Tour’ which achieved outstanding results within a small budget.  “Pedigree became the voice for helpless canines where 365 dogs found loving homes they so deserve”, says Tim Hicks, Marketing Manager of Pedigree.

 

Greater Than also collected the bronze award for the Technology Category of the full-service PR campaign implemented for leading Internet Service Provider, MWEB. The ISP needed powerful sustainable PR to maintain its market leadership position. Greater Than delivered a national campaign using innovative activities that instilled MWEB as the most trusted Internet and technology brand across a diverse audience. The agency’s creative ideas and execution produced impressive results such as building significant media relationships which translated into positive media exposure, an increase in sales and MWEB retaining its’ position as South Africa’s top Internet Service Provider. This contributed to MWEB winning the prestigious MyBroadband ISP of the Year Award.

 

Greater Than Account Manager, Tyrone Van Heerden (24), was ecstatic to also win the Gold award for Best Public Relations Professional in Media Liaison. Tyrone joined the Greater Than team in August 2010 to head up the MWEB PR account. His role has been to manage the communications of the three core areas of the business – Corporate, SOHO/SME and Consumer.

Greater Than Account Executive, Leandi Jamneck, was beaming when it was announced that she had won the ‘Best Up-and-coming Public Relations Professional’ Gold award. Jamneck (21) joined the team as a PR Assistant in December 2009 and after a nine-month internship, she was promoted to an Account Executive.

Greater Than celebrated its fifth birthday, this year and has a number of local and international brands such as MWEB, SAIL, Mars, Pedigree, Salient, The Foschini Group, Harley- Davidson and Hugo Boss in their stable.
