YOU’s sister magazine Huisgenoot has planned one of the best line-ups yet for the Huisgenoot-Musiekplaas at the ABSA KKNK this year. With more than 180 artists on the Huisgenoot stage, it’s going to be the number one place to experience the best in Afrikaans music.
One of the highlights is Skouspel onder die Sterre, a brand-new production from Huisgenoot showcasing top Afrikaans artists on an open-air stage under the starry Karoo night sky. The concert takes place on Sunday 1 April and will feature stars such as .
Another high point is the Treffer na Treffer kick-off concert on Saturday 31 March. It will start the KKNK entertainment in fine style, offering hours of non-stop Afrikaans hits. Nicholis Louw, Adam Tas, Elizma Theron, Romanz, Heinz Winckler, Snotkop, NRG, Monique, Manie Jackson, Charlize Berg and several other stars are in the line-up.
Best of all, buying a ticket for one of the evening shows means you get free access to the Rivierbuurt during the day.
Huisgenoot Lifestyle corner
At the Huisgenoot Lifestyle corner, YOU and Huisgenoot food editor Carmen Niehaus will demonstrate mouthwatering dishes, some of which will available for tastings.
Also at this venue is the beauty station, where ladies can freshen up, and where the Huisgenoot and YOU fashion team will be in attendance to offer makeovers and fashion tips.
Tempo VIP Club
Those looking for an extra-special KKNK experience, should make it a priority to visit the Tempo VIP Club table, for the launching of this exciting new club. Readers who love Afrikaans music can join for only R32 per quarter and enjoy amazing benefits, such as a two-year subscription to Huisgenoot-Tempo and entry into daily lucky draws for items like iPads and Tom Tom GPSes. Members will also receive a free ticket to a Huisgenoot-Musiekplaas evening concert of their choice and access to VIP seats and the VIP lounge backstage where they’ll have the opportunity to meet some of their favourite performers.
