Jacaranda FM collects R3.2m worth of blankets to help thousands keep warm

Jacaranda FM’s Winter Warmer, in proud partnership with Ingram’s, has again elicited widespread support and a whopping R3,2million worth of blankets to help less fortunate South Africans combat the winter chills. A combination of donations from individuals, the Winter Warmer concerts at East Rand Mall and Menlyn Park, the Schools Challenge, the 13-hour Corporate Challenge and Pay It Forward – which was initiated by Jacaranda FM’s GM, Kevin Fine – saw thousands of blankets pouring into the various collection points throughout the 2-month long campaign. ”We’d like to thank Ingram’s in particular for putting their weight behind the campaign as well as the hundreds of celebrities, the media, and especially the companies, schools and individuals who took it upon themselves to collect and donate blankets and cash” says GM Kevin Fine. “Every blanket will make a huge difference to the person that actually receives one so I’d like to thank every participant in the campaign on the recipients’  behalf for warming up winter 2012.” The beneficiaries of the 2012 drive include the H
