South African retailer Woolworths and New Media received top accolades at this year’s Galliova Awards when Woolworths TASTE food editor Abigail Donnelly walked away with two awards for the retailer’s customer magazine. Hailed for her innovative work on a magazine that is always pushing the boundaries, Donnelly was named Best Food Writer of the Year, the top award of the Galliovas, as well as Best Stylist for her work on the New Media publication.
The Galliova Food Writers’ Awards, which are sponsored by the South African Egg Industry for the past 22 years, recognise excellence in food writing, food styling and overall promotion of the South African food culture. They are the largest and most prestigious food journalism awards in South Africa.
“Abigail has a fresh, innovative approach when it comes to food – she sets the creative pace on shoots and boldly experiments with fresh new twist which actively engage and delight the TASTE reader, “ says Bridget McCarney, MD of New Media.
Donnelly, who was recently a guest judge on Master Chef, is also editor of Eat Out.
