Media24 Weekly Magazines announced the appointment of Marc Ashton, a multi-award winning journalist and entrepreneur, as acting editor of Finweek.
Ashton joined Fin24.com <http://fin24.com/> in 2008 to cover the financial services and entrepreneurship sectors. Finweek was later added to his portfolio. He was crowned Telkom Classic Financial Journalist of the Year as well as the Small Business Journalist of the Year for 2011. This after winning the Sanlam Best Newcomer to financial journalism and the Telkom Classic Small Business Journalist of the Year in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
“Finweek has produced the goods for the past 18 months, making a clean sweep of all the major financial media awards in 2011. The magazine is well respected by professional and retail investors both in South Africa and abroad and it is a privilege to be able to take it forward,” Ashton says of his appointment.
He will be assisted by an editorial project team made up of writers exceptionally talented in the field of financial journalism – David McKay, Helena Wasserman and Marc Hasenfuss.
