Advertising agency McCann Joburg is back on the creative awards map with two Golds, a Silver and a Bronze in the 33rd Annual Loerie Awards for their 8.ta campaign.
The categories in which the agency won awards are:
- Television, film and video communication: TV crafts up to 90s – direction (Gold)
- Television, film and video communication: TV crafts up to 90s – art direction (Gold)
- Television, film and video communication: TV & cinema commercials – short format (Silver)
- Integrated Campaign (Bronze)
- Television, film and video communication: TV crafts up to 90s – editing (Craft Certificate).
McCann Joburg has steadily increased its creative innings over the past two years. Vanessa Pearson, Executive Creative Director of the agency contributes this to the great opportunities for building solid relationships with their clients. “We are delighted that this approach has seen a good outcome on a major real brand and client like 8.ta for which we have garnered 18 Loerie Finalists this year.”
Working on a campaign for a newly launched brand with the aim of engaging the consumer whilst at the same time working towards award status, requires breakthrough creative strategies and fresh implementation of ideas. And this is exactly what the creative team at McCann Joburg achieved.
Even their philosophy ‘Truth Well Told’ has been integrated into the 8.ta campaign. “The ‘Truth’ of our launch communication for 8.ta was simply how connections have the power to change lives moment by moment on a daily basis. The ‘Well Told’ part of our creative philosophy was the unique and surprising way in which that was expressed,” explained Pearson.
“We could not have done this without the amazing team of people who collaborated on the campaign,” says Managing Director of McCann Joburg. “My thanks and congratulations go out to Vanessa Pearson and her talented team.”
