Gavin Rajah Concept (GRC) has been awarded “Event Producer of the Year” at the Event Solutions Spotlight Awards held in Las Vegas, USA, Tuesday night. GRC, owned and managed by South African personality, Gavin Rajah, is a specialist event management agency.
The Event Solutions Spotlight Awards, an annual awards presentation, is dedicated to recognising the best and brightest event professionals in the industry. The submission process, which took place in three phases over the course of six to eight months, culminated in a panel of industry experts selecting the finalists from nominations received. The entire industry was then invited to view the finalist profiles online and vote to determine the winners.
GRC’s instinctive creative talent combines innovative attention to detail with production, leading to a unique one-of-a-kind experience. This was clearly evident in the work for which this accolade was awarded, namely the GUMA Weekend Away, Paramount Exhibition at Aerospace and Defence, and a private client wedding.

n accomplishment we are most proud of. Not only is this award an international acknowledgement, it is also a wonderful testament to the quality of work we produce for our clients worldwide whilst speaking to our vision of a global presence,” says Gavin Rajah.
In addition to winning “Event Producer of the Year”, GRC’s ability to couple creative intuition with clients’ strategic objectives resulted in them being chosen as finalists in no fewer than three other categories:
- Designer/Creative Director of the Year
- Event Company of the Year
- Event Planner of the Year
It was a great night for the South African event industry in general, with Vicky Crease awarded “Event Supplier of the Year” and international personality, Colin Cowie, originally from Port Elizabeth, inducted to the “Hall of Fame”.
“At times the resourcefulness and innovation that comes out of South Africa can be overlooked. My wish is that these awards will highlight and help raise the profile of the talent to be found in our local events industry,” concludes Rajah.
