South African Idol’s winner, ’, celebrated his win with the knowledge that he’ll be hitting the road in a stylish new Ford Fiesta 1.6 Titanium.

The 25-year-old from Durban clinched the title after a 90-minute Idols finale at the Mosaïek Teatro in Fairlands on Tuesday evening. Khaya, received the most public votes and beat 23-year-old Melissa from Port Elizabeth.
Ford has been a major prize sponsor of the eighth season of the show, with Khaya already having had his first taste of the Fiesta and then getting a chance to shoot his new music video for the single ‘Move in and around the car.

Despite his obvious talent, Khaya Mthethwa’s singing career got off to a bumpy start. At school his teachers were eager to have him join the school choir but Khaya showed little interest. Fortunately for Idols both of Khaya’s parents are pastors, so singing at church was a must and his love for music grew from there. With a growing love for singing and his parents guiding him in the right direction, Khaya has emerged as a role model for young South Africans.
